Fromage of the Day, 11.21.11: Rogue River Caveman Blue.   Buttery, earthy and salty, this cow’s milk blue is from Oregon.  It’s probably what would happen if the great French affineur Herve Mons aged a Bleu D’Auvergne in the Pacific Northwest.  It pairs nicely with your favorite dessert wine, a Brooklyn Local Two, or a Scrumpy Hard Cider.  If it was a jazz ensemble, it would be an organ trio, lean and funky.   These are the Joy of Cheese December Events,http://wp.me/pTYGb-uK.  We also do private cheese events  as well; they involve 8-10 cheeses and start at $300 for a group of 12; our larger events, like corporate events for team building and like are also quite affordable.  Contact me at thejoyofcheese@gmail.com for more information.
