Fromage of the Day, 09.18.10: Craigston Camembert.  Smooth, vegetal and long gone, it, this soft ripened cheese was the pride of Wenham MA in the late ’80s and early 90s; it’s packaging is the template for the Vermont Brie.  It paired well with a Pete’s Wicked Ale or a New Amsterdam.  If it was a Chris Whitley disc, it would be Living With the Law, easy but not as deep as his later work.  The Joy of Cheese’s Sheepy September continues  next Tuesday, 09.21 at The Clerkenwell with an event called Spain v. Portugal.  It finishes with two events during NYC Craft Beer Week. 09.28 at d.b.a Bklyn and 09.30 at Stella Manhattan Bistro.
