Martin Johnson has been a cheesemonger in New York City since 1984. During that time he has worked at many of the leading retailers in the city including Dean and DeLuca and the Bedford Cheese Shop. He started The Joy of Cheese in 2005 as an attempt to introduce the incredible range of cheese to people who might not frequent the boutique fromageries where these delights are sold. He began doing tastings privately and wine bars quickly began calling, asking him to host tastings at their venues and to set up or revise their cheese programs. He has worked with Terroir Tribeca, In Vino, Alphabet City Beer Company, and several other leading high end establishments. In 2011, he was hired to manage the cheese counter at Gastronomie 491 on the Upper West Side. His counter has received accolades from many prominent cheese authorities such as Max McCalman and Tia Kennan and The New York Times lauded his merchandising this winter with this story, http://nyti.ms/WfyzRv
Presently Martin splits his time between his responsibilities at Gastronomie 491, cheese and beverage classes at the 92nd St. Y, and private cheese events all around New York City.

Hello there,
I’m from Rogue Ales and we have a Cheese and Beer festival coming up in Oct. that I would love to share with you so you can help spread the word (and love) of cheese and beer! If you could contact me at kate@rogue.com, I would greatly appreciate it.
Cheers!

Wow. I’ve only just come across this blog, and I absolutely LOVE it. If I could eat just one thing for the rest of my life, it’d be cheese hands down. I’m going to visit this site more often as a low-fat form of indulgence! x
Hi,
I wonder if we can send you some samples of our cheese to try and possibly review? Our cheese and dairy have great stories behind them which need telling, and the taste is pretty fantastic too.
Get in touch and I’ll send some samples
Regards

Hi Martin,
I came across your recent Huff Post article, “Cheese and Beer Rocks!” and wanted to reach out and see if you would be interested in being a guest author on CraftBeer.com? I would love to talk with you if you’re interested. We have two categories I think you’d be a great for: Muses (basically our blog area) and Beer & Food Features.
CraftBeer.com is a website of the Brewers Association, the national trade association for America’s small and independent craft brewers.
Cheers,
